Submitting Photos

You are encouraged to submit four quality photos to either the Builders Gallery if you hold a Building Company Membership, or the Suppliers Gallery, if you are an Sustaining Associate Member. Doing this increases your company's visibility on the world wide web, gives a potential client a quick preview of your buildings, products or services, and increases hits on the LTBI site as well.

Ideally, the photos submitted by email should be the original images from a digital camera; that is, not cropped, scaled or optimized in any way. This allows the webmaster to create the highest quality images for the LTBI galleries. Most unoptimized photos are over 1MB (megabyte) in size, and your email server may not permit you mailing messages over 3MB. It is then recommended that you send the photos one at a time. But if you have a dial-up connection, this is still impractical, due to the slow connection speed. Therefore, you may want to mail a CD with the photos to:
BC LTBI, PO Box 35036, Victoria BC, V8T 5G2.

Alternately, if digital photos are not available, prints can be mailed to the address above for scanning. It is recommended that you do this to allow the webmaster to achieve the highest quality scan for you. Prints will be returned to you in good condition.

If neither of the above are available, and you only have an optimized photo from your website, it may be acceptable if it is not too reduced in quality through optimization and is not smaller than 600 pixels wide X 400 pixels high. If you have further questions regarding submitting photos please contact the LTBI office.

If your photos are submitted in digitally and in an unoptimized state, we may ask for your permission to use them in our printed marketing material. We will not be able to credit them to you, but you will receive the visual identification by clients who will view the same image in your own website or literature, and the prestige of being associated with our name.
